Glasgow Eco Trust is part of the Room to Reward programme, which allows us to thank our volunteers by gifting them a free hotel room getaway.

One of our volunteers Tim was a recent recipient and stayed at Dunkeld House Hotel in January.

"I was delighted to be rewarded as being an unsung hero for my volunteering work at Glasgow Eco Trust. Dunkeld House Hotel was my choice of venue. They were kind enough to provide weekend accommodation at their picturesque 4 star establishment on grounds beside the river Tay in beautiful Perthshire. My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful weekend taking in the beautiful surroundings and luxurious accommodation."

"My volunteering story started in Melbourne Australia 10 years ago where I helped in refurbishing donated bicycles for refugees to use. It continued in Glasgow 8 years ago when I bumped into Dr Bike at a pop-up bike check stand, at that point I was waiting to start to work at BAE so I started going to the bike workshop at Kingsway. Mostly now I help out at events and with the cycle skills course or loading the blender for the smoothie bikes."

"I have been lucky enough to help GET out at live performance events where I was part of the team getting festival goers to complete environmental behaviour surveys including Coldplay at Hampden and TRNSMT."

"However, my biggest reward remains being there when the kids that are new to cycling after much persistence make it all the way around the cycle skills course unassisted by us helpers. Priceless."

Glasgow Eco Trust regularly bring our volunteers together to meet, connect, share food and celebrate. We recognise significant milestones in terms of hours volunteered and we are part of the Room to Reward programme too! Thank you Tim!

Room to Reward

Room to Reward is a unique volunteer-recognition charity created to say ‘thank you’ to the Hidden Heroes – inspirational volunteers who give up their time to make a difference to those who need it most. Their hotel  and holiday park partners donate their unsold rooms, charities and community groups nominate their Hidden Heroes for a break – we make it happen!
