As part of Keep Scotland Beautiful's National Spring Clean we are aiming to coordinate the Yorkhill to Yoker Challenge along a 4 mile stretch of the National Cycle Network (NCN) and surrounding neighbourhoods.

This will go from the new footbridge being built from Govan to Partick along the NCN to Dock Street in Yoker where the new road bridge is being built from Yoker/Clydebank to Renfrew - bridge to bridge! And off into neighbouriing communities and places such as Victoria Park and Knightswood Park.

Thanks to Whiteinch & Scotstoun Housing Association Community Partnership Agreement for funding to support this project.

Litter Emergency

Did you know that 39% of Scots believe that litter has become more common locally over the last 12 months?  Keep Scotland Beautiful has declared a litter emergency and we’re aiming to help by supporting their 2024 Spring Clean which runs from Friday 15 March to Sunday 28 April #SpringCleanScotland. By taking small actions such as organising or participating in a litter pick, you can make a difference.

Map

The Yorkhill to Yoker challenge area is shown below with the National Cycle Network route 7 shown in blue with additional cycle route connections to local communities shown as well. We have also suggested some potential litter picking areas as well!

We are inviting community groups, schools and more to get involved.

All you need to do is pick a location, pick a day(s) and time(s) between Friday 15 March to Sunday 28 April and get litter picking!
