Play Together on Pedals is a preschool and family cycling project, encouraging families to get active through enjoying the fun and freedom of cycling together.

Working with local organisations - including Glasgow Eco Trust - and early years establishments, Play Together on Pedals provides free training for new instructors and instructor trainers who play a vital role in the everyday implementation of the project.

Regular community drop-in events are held working alongside a variety of different local organisations to provide free and fun activities and space for learning to cycle.

Play Together On Pedals was originally established in Glasgow under the name ‘Play on Pedals’. It was a partnership between Cycling UK, Cycling Scotland, Bike for Good (formally Glasgow Bike Station) and Play Scotland.

The project was awarded funding by the People’s Postcode Lottery’s ‘Dreamfund’, and set out with the ambition of giving every child the opportunity to learn to cycle before starting school. Fast-forward two years and the project celebrated the milestone of 7,000 children participating.

Play Together On Pedals has produced a series of short videos to accompany the training.
