  • Energy and Pedal Power
  1. Our Work

Energy and Pedal Power

Our most popular activity for schools and community events is our pedal powered smoothies!

Up to four people at a time can take part but watch out as this fun activity can bring out the competitive nature in the quietest of people!

How does it work

So how do you make a pedal powered smoothie?

  • Up to 4 people get on their bike and start gently, steadily pedalling
  • As they pedal they generate electricity which charges a battery
  • Once the battery is fully charged then we can set the blender going
  • And then the fun really starts - the cyclists need to pedal as fast as possible to keep the blender going – the longer the blender is going the smoother the smoothie – no one likes a lumpy smoothie! And we record the times people get!
  • They then get to enjoy the fruits of their labour – a delicious and healthy fruit smoothie!

The pedal powered smoothies are perfect for community events, school activities, team building days and lots more!

We’ve had some fantastic feedback from our customers and we’ve even had some famous faces making a smoothie!

“It was a great activity for children as well as adults. It promoted cycling and healthy living and the smoothies were delicious.”

What we offer…

We provide the trained staff and all the equipment, fruit and compostable cups and the set up can be used indoors and outdoors and we take all our waste away with us at the end. And we provide our own power! Unfortunately the pedal powered smoothies are not suitable for everyone including small children (they can’t reach the pedals!) and some people who have mobility and/or health issues.

The pedal powered generators can also be used for other electrical items including light bulbs and mobile phone charging.

If you are interested in having us along at your event please get in touch and we can discuss your requirements and give you a quote for the service. When contacting us it’s useful for us to know a few things about your event including:

  • Date, time and location of the event
  • Whether it is indoors or outdoors
  • How many people you expect to attend
  • What age groups will be attending
  • Whether the event is free or will you be charging
