Our Work Active Travel Learn to cycle Updated Autumn 2023 Glasgow Eco Trust learn to cycle sessions are for people new to cycling or returning after a long absence. They provide a 1-on-1 learning experience for anyone aged 12 years and above. They are part of our active travel programme. At a session, you will be supported to have fun learning to ride a bike. The sessions are delivered by fully trained and experienced instructors. The emphasis is on fun and the sessions are delivered at a pace to suit you. The sessions run weekly on a Sunday afternoon from 1-4pm at the outdoor hall at Scotstoun Leisure Centre. You will be able to book a 1 hour session (this will be 45-50 min activity session) Each 4 week block will have up to 9 participants and people need to book the full 4 week block in advance. The dates are as follows: Block 1: Sun 24 Sep and Sun 1, 8 and 15 Oct - 1-2pm, 2-3pm and 3-4pm Block 2: Sun 29 Oct and Sun 5, 12 and 19 Nov - 1-2pm, 2-3pm and 3-4pm Block 3: Sun 26 Nov and Sun 3, 10 and 17 Dec - 1-2pm, 2-3pm and 3-4pm Bikes and helmets are provided. If you have your own bike and helmet please ask us about bringing them along on the day. The sessions are free thanks to funding from by Glasgow Community Cycling Network and Glasgow City Council and the Smarter Choices, Smarter Places fund. However if you are able to support out work then please feel free to make a donation, either online or in person at the sessions. Any support would be greatly appreciated.
